Why we like them
- Sustainable Abaca fiber
Made with Abaca (Manila hemp), a non-wood, “tree-friendly” fiber that’s naturally strong and highly permeable. Abaca fibers are significantly stronger and thinner than normal wood pulp, which contributes to both durability and clean flow. - Two-side crepe texture
Cafec’s original papermaking process creates a crepe pattern on both sides of the paper (most filter papers only have it on one side). This helps maintain air channels between the filter and the dripper, supporting smooth, even flow and helping reduce clogging. - Exceptional clarity with real body
The crepe structure helps hold back micro-fines and sediment, reducing muddiness and emphasizing definition in the cup—without stripping away all texture. We find it gives a rare combination of clear flavor, articulate acidity, and satisfying body in the same brew. - Competition-proven
Abaca filter paper is approved for use in the Japan Hand-Drip Championship (JHDC) and is used by competitors specifically for its ability to bring out clean, high-quality acidity and clarity. - Consistent and forgiving
In our testing, Abaca filters are extremely consistent from brew to brew. They handle both classic “recipe” brewing and more experimental pouring styles without becoming fussy or unpredictable. - Made in Japan
Manufactured under tight quality control; only filters that pass inspection are packed and shipped. - Compatibility
Universal cone shape designed for most 1-cup (01 style) cone drippers.
If you like a modern, high-clarity cup but don’t want to sacrifice sweetness or body, these are a great option.
