The Water We Use
Arguably the most critical variable you can control in brewing coffee is your water. It really can’t be overstated how much water impacts coffee flavor and character. We have found Lotus Coffee Water Drops to be the best overall solution to controlling this variable. Our suggestion is to use these drops in conjunction with a 1 gallon jug of deionized water. Whole Foods or other grocery stores often offer DI water for a reasonable price.
- Create custom water profiles from a base of deionized or distilled water.
- Use Calcium and Magnesium to modulate flavors, sweetness and body, or Sodium and Potassium to adjust perceived acidity in the cup.
- This is the same kit we use to create the water profiles on our Brew page, allowing you to more closely replicate our tasting experience.
- We like 10 drops of each mineral dosed into 1 gallon of DI water.
- Bottle Type: Round Tip Droppers for quicker mineralization.
- Each kit can treat dozens of gallons of water (depending on recipe)
- Kit Includes: One bottle each of Calcium Chloride, Magnesium Chloride, Sodium Bicarbonate, and Potassium Bicarbonate.
